By now we have probably all heard the saying, “Abs are made in the kitchen.” While this is true some of us experience stubborn belly fat. The kind of belly fat that settles low or the kind that leaves us feeling bloated. Even though you have made changes to your diet and have included core exercises in your routine you may be lacking the all important probiotics. With our diets today many of us a lacking the necessary probiotics to detox or body, keep us healthy, and blast belly fat.
What are probiotics?
Probiotics are live microorganisms that colonize in the gut. They are a form of good bacteria. There are two kinds of bacteria in our gut, good bacteria and bad bacteria. When the bad bacteria outnumber the good bacteria, probiotics, we become tired, more sick, less alert, develop skin conditions/acne, and gain unwanted weight. So the best way to counteract the bad bacteria in our gut is to introduce probiotics.

Humans have been consuming probiotics for centuries now. Probiotics are found in the following fermented foods:

You can also get probiotics in supplement form at most grocery stores, health food stores and vitamin shoppes. If you are sensitive to dairy or gluten be sure to read the label and choose a supplement that agrees with your diet.

What about side effects?
Generally, studies have shown that probiotics have very little side effects and it is rare to overdose on probiotics. If there are side effects your body adjusts to the probiotics within a few days. During the first few days, your body is in a detoxing period. Start off with the suggested dose and if you experience any side effects consider a lesser dose or switching supplement brands. I did experience some side effects but by day 3 they were gone.
